November 4, 2024 – Oslo, Norway / Tulsa, Oklahoma: NorSun, the leading independent western monocrystalline solar wafer producer, is pleased to announce the signing of an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contract with Clayco, a leading full-service design, engineering and construction firm, for its new 5GW solar wafer manufacturing plant in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
This agreement follows a rigorous selection process, where NorSun placed significant emphasis on broad experience, reference work and capacity to execute on building large complex industrial facilities. Through their performance during the preceding design efforts, NorSun selected Clayco to lead the construction of the facility. The construction work is expected to commence in 2025 leading up to first wafer production in mid-2026.

Their focus on collaboration and experience in delivering large-scale projects of this nature has given us great trust in their ability to deliver on budget, schedule and quality while executing the work with the highest safety and environmental standards".

NorSun's factory will be built in the Mingo Development Area in Tulsa, Oklahoma where the company has secured a long-term land lease through agreements with the City of Tulsa and Tulsa Airport Improvement Trust (TAIT).

The EPC contact between NorSun and Clayco is subject to the Tulsa plant reaching Final Investment Decision (FID).
