The preparations and work on NorSun's expansion plan for the construction of a 5 GW factory in the USA is progressing well. NorSun moves to establish a legal entity in the USA. NorSun US Inc. will be central in the upcoming contracts with subcontractors/partners and various applications and formal matters.
- We have an ambitious timeline, and therefore all events, large and small, are important to ensure timely execution, says NorSun's Project Director, Harald Bakke. He adds that there is good progress in all work streams, and that he is confident of reaching the demanding milestones in the expansion plan.
The next major milestone for the US expansion is the site selection. This is scheduled for Q1 2024.
- The timely progress in the construction plan is critical also for our customers. Our market introduction of new ingot and wafer capacity goes hand in hand with the customers own construction plans. Together we are rebuilding the PV value chain in the US with strong support from the US government and government agencies, says NorSun Director of Strategy and Business development, Helge Skaarberg Holen.
